June 2011 Prayer Request and Praise
1. Continued prayer for Anna’s involvement in the women’s prison ministry and a team of three counselors that came from the states to minister. It was a blessing to see God at work. One of the inmates, Marcela confessed that she had been a witch, but was leaving that behind. "Don't call me a witch anymore," she said. "I am a princess, a daughter of God." Janet and Faith prayed with her and led her to renounce the spirits of witchcraft and divination, which she did willingly. Marcela's father and grandfather are witches, and she says this is not going to be easy. She "likes" witchcraft, but does not want to do it anymore. She is sorry for the harm she has caused, for the people she has killed.
The next day she came back. She said that last night an evil spirit bothered her and she sent him away in the name of Jesus, just as Janet had told her to do. Praise God! Cover Marcela with your prayers. Her daughter was also a witch, but has become a Christian. PRAISE GOD FOR HIS TRANSFORMING POWER! As the Spirit moves, women are confessing sin and receiving grace. One has prayed for deliverance from homosexuality, another has confessed to adultery, others have confessed to hatred and resentment.
2. Thank you for praying for the men’s retreat last month. Men have responded in a very positive way and are seeking guidance in helping them walk through a healing process of past hurts. They want to become the godly men, fathers and husbands God is calling them to be. Pray as Al works and counsels with them that they will submit to the leading of the HS to continue working in their life.
3. Thank you for your prayers as we have been working with the staff and parents of the deaf and blind school. Parents are responding and seeking guidance from God’s Word in parenting and some have showed much interest in starting a Bible study in their homes. Pray as Bibles were given, that as they read they will respond to God’s Word and voice and find favor in God. Pray for some students involved in drugs, internet porn and prostitution. That God will break those chains of evil and wickedness of those young lives.
4. Continued prayer for the home Bible study in Rodeo. Jose is truly responding to God’s Word and is asking God help him make a difference in the community. Praise God for his faithfulness and service during his JM term working with and encouraging youth in missions along with working alongside Anna with the children in the different communities.
7. Continued prayer for the students attending the Counseling Institute at C.A.S.A. That as they continue to prepare they will begin to put in practice what they have learned. As they begin to counsel, these opportunities would lead to start new home Bible studies and house churches.
