Dear Prayer Team: Wow! March was a very busy month and all the celebrations of Holy Week and activities kept us very busy. We thank all of you so much for your unceasing prayers as they give us the strength and endurance to continue the race. For He answers our prayers as we trust in Him (1 Chron 5:20). (Psalm 66:1-4) Shout with joy to God, all the earth! Sing the glory of His name; make his praise glorious! Say to God, "How awesome are your deeds! So great is your power that your enemies cringe before you. All the earth bows down to you; they sing praise to you, they sing praise to your name."

Pray for Brett and Brenda Cargile, Michael and Cindy Wollett and Steve and Paula King as they plant churches with Quichua in the metropolitan Quito area. Pray for David and Debbie Butts as their teams are planting numerous churches in central Ecuador. Pray for Linda Freeman and Al and Anna Rodriguez as they plant churches among the southern Quichua. Also, we are just beginning a team which is looking to engage the southern Shuar people of Ecuador. Pray for us and for Mike and Pat Townsend as we strategize and make plans to begin work with these people.
Check out the web link below and you can get your church involved in the Day of Prayer and Fasting for World Evangelization, May 11, 2008. This year the unreached tribal groups of the Amazon Basin of South America are featured including the Southern Shuar. There are many ways you can get involved in this effort. Our greatest strategy is prayer and you can be a partner in bringing down the barriers which have kept the gospel from about 200 people groups in the Amazon for all these years. There are videos which you can download or watch online. There are many other possibilities so please check it out!

What a wonderful time and turnout as we gathered to worship during Resurrection Sunday at Iglesia El Buen Pastor in Tambo. It is great to see over 50 children participate in children's choir and learning as the seed is being planted in their hearts about God. We see the future of the church in these children. Al shared the Resurrection message and many decisions and renewal of commitments were made. Pastor Manuel prayed over the people as they surrendered to the Lord. Later we were invited to a wedding celebration at another nearby church where the son and daughter of two families were getting married in New York. The celebration was without the bride and groom and there was plenty of food. Cuy (guinnie pig), chicken, pork, potatoes and hominy. Each person was served a big serving enough to last for days. Wow! This is what you call digging -in. Before we left, we prayed over the community of Sunicorral and the surrounding communities that they may be open to hear the gospel message and receive the the hope and blessings in Jesus Christ.

God is good in answering our unceasing prayers. I remember in one of our volunteer mission trips in Oct 2005 before coming full time missionaries in Ecuador, coming and prayer-walk the communities of Cahuashun Grande and Cahuashun Bajo with Manuel Bonilla. Now we are seeing the fruits of all those faithful prayers. Thank you and keep up your unceasing prayers. We see the house church in Cahuashun growing and it is encouraging to see Manuel Bonilla leading and his wife singing specials. A big step for her. Praise and glory be to God.
It is an honor, privilege and exciting to be part of the learner's life. Iglesia Cristo El Rey in Sisid volunteers their facility as local teachers teach the Quichua people how to read and write. This has also been an opportunity to witness to these teachers. Pray their hearts will be open and allow Jesus Christ to come into their lives. Though Pastor Felix has those abilities and currently enrolled in the Ecuador Theological Baptist Seminary, he decided to take the classes to encourage some of his congregational members including his wife. I was given the honors to giving out certificates to the graduates.
Anna teaches and encourages the women on how to support and pray for their husbands in the ministry. Pastor Onorato a pioneer Christian shares on his success of growing the church after going through about 28 persecutions. His focus was on commitment, obedience, loving and caring for the people and as you preach God´s Word, let Jesus lord and reign your life. Pastor Victor Molina teaches on church structure and leadership. Hna Rita, wife of a local pastor from Primera Iglesia Bautista de Cuenca encourages and shares with the women on "The Women´s Role In Ministry". Al sits with 95 year old brother Miguel Dui as they share God's Word and blessings. Lot's of wisdom from an old Christian pioneer as he shares testimony on one occasion where he was given a choice either to leave the Christian faith or loose his 36 acres. He chose to follow and keep on trusting in Christ and lost his 36 acre farm. Wow! I was so encouraged and pray you will too.
Something very common. One of many accidents. Here this accident is being investigated by local authorities where a semi truck going down hill with no breaks ran into this bus which was stopped unloading some passengers. Nine dead and by God's grace a father and son, members of one of the churches in Cañar where we minister, came out of it alive. They are giving testimony in local churches of how by God´s hand, their lives were spared. Be in prayer for those who lost loved ones and still in serious condition without Christ. What an opportunity that has been given to share the hope we have in our Lord Jesus Christ.
Praise God for the house churches we are seeing being developed after much prayer. Pray for these house churches in Bartolome and Ruisho that they may continue faithfully growing and expand their vision to reach out to the outlying communities with the gospel. Ligia joins in leading a a house church in a study. Also keep Wilmer in prayer that you see in the center with his eyes closed as we work in encouraging him and his wife Daisy in restoring their relationship. Lots of potential if they let God reign.
After some prayer-walking in communities outside of Cuenca, we aslo spent some time shopping for some vegetables and fruits at the "Mercado" in Paute. Wow! Built up an appetite and time to eat. Looks like almost half of the pig is already missing. Daisy, what happen to it? Please pray for Daisy and her husband Wilmer as We work with them in restoring their marriage relationship. Wilmer is sitting with Al waiting on the meal so don't get the wrong idea about the pig.
