Thank you all for all of your prayers and support. There is so much to be thankfull for as we enter into the month of November and Thanksgiving season. God has been answering many of your prayers as we have seen God's hand at work. Last month we asked for prayers for two familiies in the town of Biblian, a community that has been very hard and difficult to get in with the gospel message. God's grace reached down from heaven and touched the Ordovo family of five beginning with the father to surrender their lives to the Lordship of Jesus Christ. A neighbor three houses from them has also asked and is interested in a home Bible Study at his house.
Praise God for the radio and counsleing ministry as we are seeing many coming and crying out for the hope that is available to all who call upon the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. We are beginning to see people truly being freed from the chains and bondage of their past hurts and the lies of the enemy.
Thank you for praying for the marrige conference held in Oct as it was a blessing to see God at work in a couple that has been stuggling in their relationship but through your prayers we are now seeing the fruits and a restored relationship.
Another marriage conference held Nov 9th and 10th in Quito was also a success held in a local community clinic where a new church has been established.
In the community of Chordeleg God is at work as doors are being open in the schools to go in sharing the Book of Life for free to all the students. The principles are aslo asking if we can conduct marriage and family conferences. Please pray for the Lord to give us wisdom in responding to these requests and planning that He may reap the harvest.
Praise God for your prayers as He is also at work in the hearts of the leaders in Tambo as they are beginnig to have a new vision for their relationships with Christ to lead their families in God's ways and be the shinning lights in their communities surrounded by darkness.
Pleas pray as we plan for the coming year. There is much to do and we need to pray for God to raise up leaders and workers who obediently will surrender and follow to join God in His harvest.
Pary for Anna and I as we will be traveling to the states Nov 20th to Dec 4th to spend Thanksgiving with family.
We love you all and thank you so much for all your support and prayers as that is where our strength comes from.

What a blessing to see people responding to the call of God to go out spreading the gosple news during the Ecuador Baptist Convnetion. Peole being trained how to use the evangecube as a witnessing tool. After the trianing everyone was divided in four big groups to to go to four different churches in the town of Puyo and dividng in groups of two to do a city wide evangelism event.

Keep this small church group in your prayers in Chordeleg as we disciple them to start other house churches. This is the only evangelical house church in Chordeleg a small community known for it's market of gold jewelry. The Group is led by Rolando in the whtie shirt and they are eager to learn how to grow and learn how to share their lives in Christ with others.

Prayers for this month of October 2006. Please pray for this group of leaders in Tambo as I work with and ecourage them to walk in obedience as we go through "A Man God Uses" by Henry Blackaby. Pray also for Oct 6th and 7th as Anna and I will be leading a Quechua pastor and wife retreat, on the 14th I will be speaking at the Azuay Associational Annual meeting on pastor appreciation, and on Oct 27th and 28th I will be leading a mens retreat. Pray for renewing of the hearts, minds and transformation of His people to turn in obedience and walking with our Lord. There is much brokeness and hurts of relationships within the body of Christ and sin that prevents the Holy Spirit from blessing as He would. II Chronicles 7:14. Please also pray for two homes in Biblian that have opened their doors for bible studies. Biblian is a community that has been very closed to the gospel or any evangelicals and there has been a lot of persecution, but through many prayers through the years, the Holy Spirit has touched the hearts of two families who are hungry for the Word of God. Please do not forget to pray for the radio ministry as Al, Hna Ligia, Pastor Juan Diego and a couple of other men share every Saturday. We are seeing the fruits of that ministry as many are responding seeking to find the Hope that is offered. And most of all PRAISE His Gloriuos Name for He is good and worthy to be praised.

Thank you so much for all your prayers and PRAISE GOD for His wonderful works. He indeed has been hearing all of the prayers as we witnessed some baptisms in people following in obedience as they continue to seek walking with our Lord. It was an awesome time as we witnessed to the many who were curiously watching. Lot's of fellowshipping with Quechuas and fellow believers from various communities who joined in a wonderful worship experience, celebrating the Lord's Supper, with a picnic follwing and many were observed praying and having small group bible studies. God is working in people's lives as the seed continues to be planted. We had two batisms and seven decisions for Christ. Continue to pray for faithfulness amongst the believers. Thnk you Jesus and glory to your glorious name.

Weddings here are somewhat different. This is our third wedding here and very different form the others. it is a three day event. The wedding party with the bride and groom and all the invitees walk through the community announcing the wedding and inviting all who want to come. We walked for for a little over a mile. The bride and groom msut be tired by the time they arrive to the church. You will notice the bride and groom by the cake and the Pastor Pablo who performed the ceremony. People gathered all around outside to enjoy the food, lots of mote (corn), potatoes, bread, and cuy (guinie pig). They don't rent tuxedos here buth they wear very colorful clothes and aer very proud. A great time of fellowship and time for us to witness.

Praise God for Rosana our Spanish/Queshua teacher and please continue to pray for her husband Juan Diego and family as they continue to show interest in the gospel. May the Lord soon reap their lives. They were graciuos to invite us to their over 800 acre beautiful ranch up in the mountains. Al is building relationships with their son Diego learning how to make things from adobe clay. Anna is spending time with Rosana sharing about God's beauty and creation. Not only is Al a missionary, but a want-a-be cowboy. Getting ready to ride out and spend some time alone with Juan Diego enjoying the quietness and cool of the mountains to witness and sharing God's Word with JD. they have been a blessing. Also there's a fisshing hole where we plan to return and do a little trout fishing as we enjoy the site of the cows and llamas. If any of you are willing to take the challenge of joining us, you are more than welcome.

WOW! Missionary Al adjusting to eating tasty cuy (guinie pig, the Quechua's specialty. I guess this repalces my tortillas.
Thank you so much for your prayers specially on my birthday. It was a blessing to celebrate it in a different setting. Linda, and two Quechua pastors and their wives (Pastor Lucas with one of their daughter's Elvia and Pastor Felix)took Anna and I to Culebrias a lake over 12k ft elevation for a picnic. This was a way for them appreciating us. We had fun experiencing cooking chicken, beef, hot dogs and their favorite food cuy (guinie pig)in the middle of nowhere. We were able to fellowship, share testimonies and worship with songs. Though the elevation affected Linda, we were still able to enjoy and soon we returned to the lower elevation where Linda immediately felt better as she began singing happy birthday in Spanish.

People are gathered around to recieve food and and animal feed to be distributed. As they gatered around waiting for the distributions, the gopsel was shared by some young men from nearby churches in Riobamba and Ambato. Children were also ministered to and many tears of gratitude were shed by the recipients. God was glorified and most of these people heard the gospel message for the first time. Please pray as the Lord leads you for these people. A great opportunity to reach out and start new home churches.

Please continue to join us in prayer asking for God's love, grace and mercies to fill His land. Much prayer is needed for the people affected by the Tungurahua volcano that erupted Aug 16th. Many have lost their homes, crops, animals, livestock and lives. Many are beginning to feel the affects of the ash in the air that continues to flow out of the volcano daily. They are in big need of medical attention. You can see the ash just covering their crops and land. Many were just within 2 months of harvesting while other tree crops were beginning to be in their blooming stage.

Dear Prayer Partners:
Please be in prayer these next couple of weeks as we are packing our bags tonight to drive to the areas affected by the eruption of volcano Tungurahua on Wednesday, August 16.
If you check it out on a map of Ecuador, it is pretty much right in the middle of the country, very near to Riobamba.
We have been asked to come help other IMB missionaries living in the area minister to the needs of many who are desperate for basic necessities.
Please pray daily for God's provision in these peoples lives and that as God provides, they will have understanding of God's love for them and His desire to walk with them in every step they take.

Thank you for your faithfull prayers. Missionary Darrell's skills and experience was a blessing as we worked with different Quechua people teaching them to care for their farm animals and crops to be more productive. Many animals were vacinated and others casterated. Cages were built for raising guinie pigs (Cuy) for food and money for the families. I never thought I would be ministering in this way. PTL. Through this ministry, we had commitments to start Bible studies at four differnt homes. Manuel Bonilla has been praying for a break through with these people. The Lord has opened doors and we need to lift him up in prayers as he begins working in these homes that the people will come to know and have a deep and personal relationship with our Lord Jesus Christ.

Thank you for your prayers. Anna and Linda had a very successful VBS week at Santa Barbara where over 60 children attended and heard the gospel messgae through Bible Stories, crafts and games. On Friday the last day they celebrated accompanied by their mothers many of whom for the first time heard the Good News of our Lord Jesus Christ. Many seeds were planted and the VBS workers were encouraged.Pray for them that as they continue to work with the children, they will also follow-up with their parents and will come to recieve Jesus as Lord and Savior.

Prayers as Anna, Linda and I will be doing a Youth Conference on Aug 15th, 16th and 17th at Iglesia Evangelica Bautista El Buen Pastor in Tambo with Pastor Lucas. He is very mission minded. The majority of the men have immigrated to the U.S. and have left their families behind and there are many broken families and hurts from young people. Some of the young girls are being mothers at a very young age of 14 and 15.

Please also pray as we are working this week with some help of another missionary from Northern Ecuador to reach out to Quichua people in Cahuashun in helping them how to better raise their cuy (guinie pigs) and other farm animals along with working and caring for their land to be more productive with their produce. We are praying this opens doors and opportunities to start at least 2 - 4 new Bible studies. We are working with Manuel and his wife Luisa. With them are Anna and our supervisor Linda Freeman.

Please pray for me (Al) as I try to do what I can to reach out and build relationships with the Quichua people in Sisid. I'm helping haul feed for the cuy (guinie pig) the future meals for the people to share with the missionaries. Pray for Pastor Felix, his with and one of their daughters. A very energetic and servant with a heart for his people.
